Jimmer Kennedy - August 2020 KIYC Captain of the Month

We have an August Captain of the Month - so proud to receive this nomination of Jim "Jimmer" Kennedy - from his wife, Amber: Jimmer Kennedy, nominated by his wife Amber and son Jordan, Jimmer is owner/operator of Towboat Marine LLC, Towboat US Sandusky. He began his career in the early 90s at Neuman boat line. And also worked many trips with Interlake Steamship Company. The waters of Sandusky Bay and Huron has been his fore front for the many salvages he has done over the years including saving vessels that are hard aground, sinking, on the rocks and vessels involved in collisions, as well as the many tows for mechanical breakdowns. Randy Lorenz - July 2020 KIYC Captain of the Month

t's official: KIYC's July Captain of the Month is Randy Lorenz! Randy was nominated by his wife & first mate, Ann Stahl Lorenz. Ann tells us Randy bought his first boat at age 8. As a youngster, Randy and his family took boating trips all over Lake Erie & Lake St. Clair. When Ann & Randy purchased their 34 Mainship in Buffalo they enjoyed navigating the trip back to Sandusky. Ann & Randy now enjoy spending much of the summer at their Kelleys Island residence.

Brian Clepper - May 2020 KIYC Captain of the Month

Congratulations to Brian Clepper for being nominated for KIYC's June Captain of the Month. Brian was nominated by his brother-in-law, John Holzhauser. John's nomination:"Brian has been boating since he was 8 and started with a small aluminum boat on West Harbor. He and his friends would each take their own boat out and race between pretending to fish.Brian grew up in Lexington, OH. His family purchased their first lake home across from East Harbor State Park at Harbor Acres. After a few years, they purchased a home on the north bay of Kelleys Island and now he visits Marblehead at his father's newest home, just a few streets over from Schrock's Marina.
